A pause between two moments — brief, deliberate, and often the part that's remembered most. In hospitality, it's the difference between a stay and an experience worth returning for.

"Independent hotels deserve the same commercial firepower as the biggest brands — without losing what makes them irreplaceable."

Interlude Hospitality:
your dedicated commercial team

Interlude Hospitality was built for independent hotels and boutique collections that want big-brand commercial results without surrendering their identity. We act as your outsourced sales and marketing department — deeply embedded in your property, fully accountable for your revenue performance.

Our team brings decades of hands-on experience spanning global distribution, luxury travel trade, group sales, and commercial strategy. We know the buyers, the platforms, and the levers — and we use all of them on your behalf.

Whether you need full-service representation or targeted support in a specific channel, we build the engagement around your property's unique commercial opportunity — not a one-size-fits-all retainer.

Project-based.
Precisely scoped.

Not every hotel needs a full commercial partnership from day one. Interlude's à la carte services are standalone diagnostic and strategic engagements — ideal as a starting point, a check-in, or a focused solution to a specific commercial challenge.

Diagnostic

Commercial Audit

A comprehensive review of your property's sales strategy, distribution channels, pricing structure, and competitive positioning — delivered with a prioritized action plan.

Diagnostic

Sales Shop

An independent assessment of your sales team's responsiveness, process, and conversion effectiveness — delivered as a detailed report with clear recommendations.

Competitive Intelligence

Competitive Shop

A structured analysis of how your competitors are positioning, pricing, and selling — so you know exactly where you stand and where the opportunity lies.

Strategic

SWOT Analysis

A rigorous evaluation of your property's commercial strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats — benchmarked against one or more competitive sets. Scoped and priced by the number of sets analyzed.

Strategic

What-If Criteria Analysis

Scenario-based modelling of the revenue impact of key decisions — rate changes, channel mix shifts, segment adjustments — before you commit to them.

Revenue

Segmentation & Revenue Management

A combined deep dive into your business mix by segment, channel, and daypart — paired with the revenue and distribution strategy to act on it. We identify where revenue is being left on the table and build the pricing and channel approach to capture it.

Talent

Commercial Talent Assessment

Hiring a sales or revenue leader is one of the highest-stakes decisions an independent property makes — and the hardest to judge from a résumé and a good interview. Interlude provides an independent, expert evaluation of your shortlisted candidates, combining structured interviews, competency assessment against the demands of your market, and a clear written recommendation. You get an objective read on who can actually deliver, so you hire with confidence instead of hope.

Strategic

Annual Budget & Business Plan Preparation

A comprehensive annual budget and commercial business plan — built around your property's revenue goals, market conditions, and competitive landscape, and delivered as a presentation-ready document for ownership and stakeholders.

Marketing

Digital Marketing & Social Media

A focused engagement covering your property's digital presence, channel mix, OTA strategy, and online brand positioning — including a full social media audit of content strategy, brand consistency, and engagement performance. Delivered as a project-based strategy with a clear implementation roadmap.

Diagnostic

Deployment & Team Goals

A diagnostic review of how your sales team is currently deployed against your highest-value segments and accounts — and whether their goals are set to match. We identify where coverage is misaligned, where effort is being wasted, and where goals need resetting to reflect real opportunity.

We begin with a full review of your current channel mix, rate strategy, segment performance, and competitive positioning to identify where the biggest revenue opportunities lie.

ii.

iii.

Market Activation

Our sales team goes to market on your behalf — attending trade events, conducting sales calls, managing RFPs, and building the buyer relationships that generate recurring revenue.

iv.

Paid and organic marketing campaigns are deployed across digital, social, PR, and email channels — coordinated with the sales calendar for maximum commercial impact.

v.

Reporting & Optimization

Monthly performance reviews keep you informed and our strategy sharp — with transparent reporting on revenue metrics, channel performance, and pipeline activity.

Why Interlude

Commercial expertise,
without the overhead

Building an in-house sales and marketing team takes years and significant capital. Interlude gives independent hotels immediate access to senior-level commercial expertise — without the cost, hiring risk, or ramp-up time.

Senior Experience

Our team has held leadership roles in sales, revenue management, and marketing at independent hotels and major brands alike — we've sat on your side of the table.

Built for Independents

We work exclusively with independent and boutique properties, so every strategy is built for your scale and identity — not adapted from a big-brand template.

Full Accountability

We measure ourselves by your revenue results, not activity reports. Transparent monthly reporting keeps performance — and accountability — front and center.

Silvia San Martin

Founder & Principal, Interlude Hospitality

Silvia brings more than 25 years of commercial leadership in luxury hospitality, having directed sales and marketing strategy for some of the industry's most respected brands.

She most recently served as Vice President of Sales for Turnberry, overseeing top-line revenue strategy across the JW Marriott Nashville, The Seagate, and The Lake House on Canandaigua. She also led the pre-opening sales strategy and launch of two landmark convention hotels — the JW Marriott Nashville and the Omni Nashville Hotel — both regarded as among the most successful openings in their brands' history. Her experience also spans brand conversions, having served as the primary liaison between ownership and Marriott International and Preferred Hotels through complex repositioning and brand transition processes.

Born in Ecuador and fluent in both the language and culture of Latin America, Silvia has always operated between two worlds — and found that the space between them is where the best opportunities live. She brings that same conviction to every hotel she represents, bridging US buyers and Latin American markets with a fluency that goes far beyond language.

Over her career, Silvia has generated more than $1.2 billion in booked revenue, built and led high-performing commercial teams, and served as a trusted partner to ownership groups, brand leadership, and clients alike. She founded Interlude Hospitality because independent hotels deserve that same commercial firepower — without losing what makes them irreplaceable.

Common questions,
straight answers.

Interlude acts as your outsourced commercial team — handling sales representation, travel trade outreach, tradeshow attendance, group and MICE sales, and performance reporting. We embed in your property and work as an extension of your team, bringing big-brand commercial infrastructure without the overhead of a full in-house department.

In addition to ongoing partnership tiers, Interlude offers à la carte project-based services including revenue management strategy, commercial audits, and sales shops — ideal for properties looking for a focused engagement before committing to a full partnership, or as standalone diagnostic tools.
Hotel management companies take operational control of your property. Interlude does not — we focus exclusively on the commercial side: sales, marketing, and distribution. You retain full ownership and operational control. We are a commercial partner, not an operator.
The performance fee is a small percentage of booked revenue directly attributable to Interlude's efforts — meaning revenue we generated through our sales activity, tradeshow presence, or outreach. It is invoiced upon confirmation of the booking and varies by partnership tier. The retainer covers our activity; the performance fee rewards our results.
All travel expenses incurred on behalf of your property — airfare, accommodation, ground transportation, and per diem meals — are reimbursed by the client at cost. We provide itemized expense reports within 15 days of each trip, and all significant travel is pre-approved in writing. The retainer covers our time; direct expenses are passed through transparently.
The initial term is six months. Hotel sales cycles are long — a lead nurtured in January may not close until September. A shorter commitment wouldn't give the engagement time to generate meaningful results. After the initial term, the agreement renews automatically in six-month increments unless either party provides 30 days written notice before the end of the current term.
Interlude is designed to complement an in-house team, not replace one. An in-house sales manager handles day-to-day operations and local relationships. Interlude brings national and international reach, tradeshow presence, travel trade connections, and commercial infrastructure that most in-house teams cannot maintain on their own. The two work together — we cover the ground they can't.

Local sales teams should remain focused on key accounts to ensure repeat business. As new leads are generated and closed through Interlude's efforts, repeat business regenerates organically at the property level — creating a compounding effect where new revenue becomes returning revenue over time.

Revenue management strategy is available as an à la carte service and can be scoped separately based on the property's needs.
Core is ideal for properties establishing a commercial presence or entering new markets. Growth is the most popular tier for independent hotels ready to compete seriously — it covers the full scope of commercial representation. Premier is for hotels, small collections, or ownership groups requiring fractional DOSM leadership and the deepest level of strategic integration. We are happy to recommend the right fit during an initial conversation.
